When it comes to LED explosion-proof lights, it means that the LED lights are explosion-proof, but many users require not only the explosion-proof function but also the LED lights to have waterproof function when buying, so is the LED explosion-proof light waterproof?
First of all, everyone should understand that explosion-proof and waterproof are two different concepts. Some bad manufacturers sell waterproof LED lamps as explosion-proof LED lamps. Water-proof LED lamps belong to ordinary lighting and other appliances, and cannot be compared with LED explosion-proof appliances. If the Led explosion-proof lamps enter the water, it will cause a short circuit and cause a fire. If there is no suitable explosion-proof lamp in the hazardous area, it will cause an explosion on the scene and cause casualties. Therefore, explosion-proof and simple waterproof are two concepts. Secondly, the LED explosion-proof lamp has a certain waterproof function, and the user should determine whether the waterproof level of the LED explosion-proof lamp meets his needs according to actual needs when purchasing. Generally speaking, the waterproof requirements of LED explosion-proof lamps are IP65-IP68.
Let me briefly introduce the meaning of the numbers of protection level:
6 of IP65 means no dust enters, and 5 means spray water in all directions of the housing without harmful effects.
The 6 in the front of IP66 means no dust enters, and the 6 in the back refers to strong water spray in all directions of the housing without harmful effects.
6 of IP67 refers to no dust ingress, 7 refers to immersion in water of specified pressure, and after a specified time, the amount of water in the enclosure will not reach harmful levels.
IP68 refers to no dust entry, and 8 refers to the condition that the manufacturer and the user agree (it should be harsher than the characteristic number of 7). After continuous diving, the amount of water in the shell does not reach harmful levels.
In general, LED explosion-proof lights are waterproof, but the waterproof level is different. When purchasing and using, it is necessary to distinguish whether the waterproof level of LED explosion-proof lights meets actual needs.
